Job Description for Program Manager

The Beyond the Boundaries Steering Committee seeks a half-time Program Manager to oversee the organization’s activities. The person should be knowledgeable in Catholic/Christian social justice issues and the systemic injustice due to racially segregated poverty in urban areas. The person should be able to work with like-minded groups to advocate policies for change.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This half-time position has a start date of July 1, 2019. The Program Manager will:

  • organize meetings of the Beyond the Boundaries Steering Committee
  • raise money to fund Beyond the Boundaries operations
  • represent Beyond the Boundaries when collaborating with other organizations
  • maintain communication with members in person and by email and through updating the Beyond the Boundaries webpage
  • recruit individuals and groups in parishes to advocate for social justice

The Program Manager should:

  • have good computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • be a self-starter with organizational abilities and experience
  • have good oral and written communication skills
  • have experience raising money or grant writin
  • have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • have experience in community organizing, action or advocacy
